I disagree, The Prodigy were already very famous, Out of Space, everybody in the place were already massive hits, The fat of the land album was just the mainstream catching up.

Arturia have learned well from Expressive E :) No poly vibrato though, of course - but that's probably a good thing because the learning curve could put people off - this isn't that sort of instrument, it's more traditional. Very impressive update. Looks like a beautiful synth!

That is one massive synth. Sounds great though.

Most probably THE synthesizer of the year and probably one of THE synthesizers of the century so far (together with Nonlinear Labs "C15", Waldorf "Quantum [MK2]" and Oberheim "OB-X8"). With this one Arturia arrived in the top list of snythesizer manufacturers.

Way too big and heavy for me 🙂. But professional producers will have lots of fun with it.

Great video. When Loopops Deckards Dream appeard on YT, I immediately took my Novation Summit (that has way greater features than the REV2) to recreate the DD intro sound. And I succeeded 99%. It took some time though and asks for meticulously programming (please bear in mind that I program synths since the late 70's - and programming doesn't mean just twisting the fltr cutoff...) Of course, the CS and DD are great synths. But it is a mythical belief that their sounds can't be recreated on other synths. It's all about know-how and understanding synths in a deeper way and you also need gifted ears to. And obviously there will be (only little) difference in sound, because at the end they are all different synths. What you do here is even easier on a Waldorf Kyra since it has 4096 waveforms to choose from and up to 10(!) independent OSC's in a single patch!! Kyra is a heavily underestimated synth btw...

My first exposure to The Prodigy was Firestarter, I can remember seeing the video for the first time as a kid and just being blown away by it. No YT or anything like that back in the day so it was a one and done until you could catch it again. Loved MTV's AMP as well for helping showcase a lot of, otherwise, unknown electronica music and videos.

Soon as I saw the title, I knew it'd either be the MAM ADX1 or Vermona's original DRM1. Run them through a 5v triggered Sherman FB for Millenium-era electro sound. Sick as fuck ❤

That noise degradation / low resolution is very simple and boring across all the presets. There is a good reverb but the rest is just meh. I agree thesed o soundnot very ibasic and are very primitive. I would opt for dedicated fx pedals/ plug ins. The Heat part is still strong and good.

I remember when this first came out I was in 10th grade and was asked to skip school by this couple in my lunch. I was a jock and they were goth and I never really talked to them but they said they had some weed so I thought sure and went. Well we got to their house and after we smoked they put this video on and basically started to almost fuck on the couch right in front of me. It was so surreal and I was high as shit and didn’t know what to do. When the song was over they stopped and asked if I wanted to go to Burger King and I said yes. After that we went back to school and never spoke again I still have no idea what the fuck happened.

Still? It’s pretty new. Continuum is more expressive but it’s also much more expensive.
